Here you are then. And I note that at least I didn't eat the Reindeer...

> Your scene with the cat was obviously a great deal of fun, and I thank you for it. I really meant to work in that "he's just a big softy, really" line in there somewhere, but we never got around to visiting Vizh at the first aid station. And good to see that Griff takes after his old man when it comes to raiding the fridge at night...

"I'm sorry!" wailed Magweed.

There was no direct response from the figure in front of her. She heard a slight whimper as Lisa adjusted the bandages, but no other response. Her father seemed to have gone rather rigid.

"I'm very sorry!" she added, becoming rather concerned.

It had all seemed so innocent. She had taken the nice cat to see Visionary and show off its new ribbons, and the moment she had passed the cat to him (he had shown a strange reluctance to hold it), it had gone off like a claymore mine or - in her frame of reference - a very pissed Gothenmander.

It had taken several minutes to extract the cat, who now lolled slackly in her arms. It was somewhat mollified by the fact that the ribbons, though still in place, were at least no longer pink.

Then Lisa had come to investigate the disturbance, and dragged her father off for treatment. She had watched spellbound as Lisa expertly and tightly wrapped Visionary in swathes of cloth. She wasn't sure what Fleabot had meant about "having had a lot of practice stitching Visionary up", but her treatment of the worst scratches seemed to be effective.

"But it's such a nice cat!" she continued.

"I know." said Lisa, taking charge of the animal having finished her mummification of Visionary. "He's just a big softy, really."

Magweed wasn't sure, but she thought she heard her father mutter something about "evil" as Lisa and the cat left the room.
